Overview of all-day Course (9.30 - 4.30)

You know the 5 Steps for tables and which graphs to avoid - and you know the 4 Design Principles (C.R.A... etc). Now go to the next level and create performance metrics, dashboards, KPIs and information packs that are stunning. Here's how:

1.   More on graphs, part 1:make yours beautiful
2.   More on tables: numerous tips for perfect tables
3.   RAG reports: some dos – and many don’ts
4.   Numbers: ideas that really help numerical clarity
5.   Adding words: dovetailing numbers with comments
6.   Adding colour: time-saving tricks for beautiful colour
7.   More on graphs, part 2: some to avoid, some to try
8.   Bringing it all together: tips to make your work stunning
9.   Computing: short-cuts, warnings, tricks

And more.

This is a different day to the core Course. It's Advanced. Many tips are new and go beyond my book. The core Course looked at simple layouts of tables and graphs and got you to “good”. This Course goes a lot further. It looks at complex layouts - many tables or graphs on a single page. And it gets you - and your reports - to "stunning”.

Who should attend

This Course benefits anyone who presents lots of numbers, either in graphs or tables. Maybe you're an accountant, market researcher, analyst or actuary. Maybe you produce performance metric packs or dashboards or RAG reports or information packs or management accounts. Whatever it is you do, if your reports show lots of graphs and tables, this Course is for you.

And if you have to show lots of them on a single piece of paper, then this Course is perfect for you. Learn how to show them all in a way that looks fantastic. If you want to impress - if you quietly want to hear people say your work is “stunning” - contact me to book a place.

What the Course isn’t

Computing - OK, we'll talk about it a bit, but not for too long

Pre-Course knowledge

Delegates must know the tables, graphs and document design stuff from my core Course.

How to benefit even more: before and after the Course

Book me for a day beforehand to redo some of your work
Staff will really see just how much better their own work can be. Also, you hit the ground running – the redone pages act as templates for other pages too. We'll need to agree what pages to redo and how long it'll take.

Book me for a follow-up day three weeks later

During the follow-up day, I see your staff one-on-one in pre-booked half hour slots.  We talk about problems they've had putting the Course into practice, about their documents, and more. Book this extra day and really reinforce the learning.
