Course overview

"Excellent Course and a good fit with the Core Course" Aon (RF)
"First rate, I want my staff to get to know all of this" FDS (SW)
"I love how Jon presents his material" Ofcom (CG)
"Great handout" Lab21 Healthcare (CJ)

To do this Course, you must have already done "Clarity & impact"

You know the 5 Steps for tables and which dumb graphs to avoid. You know the four Design Principles (C.R.A... etc). So now go to the next level and do work that’s stunning.

1.   Great graphs, part 1: make your graphs beautiful
2.   Terrific tables: numerous tips to take you to Table Heaven
3.   Dashing dashboards & KPIs: how to make them stunning
4.   RAG reports: some dos – and many don’ts
5.   Nonsense numbers: ideas to help numerical clarity
6.   Great graphs, part 2: isobars & scattergrams... briefly
7.   Adding words: how to dovetail numbers with comments
8.   Adding colour: time-saving tricks for colour
9.   Removing graphs: more popular but nasty graphs to avoid
10. Computing: short-cuts, warnings, tricks

And more.

This is a different day to the core Course. Firstly, many tips are new and go beyond my book. Secondly, it's less 'chalk and talk', more 'delegate exercise' where we look at mockups - they're typical layouts that already follow the principles in the core “Clarity & impact” Course, yet we still transform them.

Thirdly, this is an Advanced Course. Whilst the core Course looks at simple layouts of tables and graphs and gets you to “good”, this Course goes much further. It looks at complex layouts - many tables and graphs on a single page. And it gets you to "stunning”.

Which means your complex layouts will get to "stunning" too.

Who should attend

This Course benefits anyone who presents lots of numbers, either in graphs or tables, e.g accountants, market researchers, actuaries, people responsible for KPIs or dashboards, etc. And if you have to shoe-horn many of your graphs and tables onto a single piece of paper, even better.

Also, attend if you want to impress. Attend if you quietly want to hear people say your work is “fantastic” or “stunning”. If that's you, contact me to book a place.

What the Course isn’t

Advanced WiT & design– see the other new Course for that
Computing - OK, we'll talk about it a bit, but not for too long

Pre-Course knowledge

Delegates must know the tables, graphs and document stuff from my core Course.
